The Southern Regional Children’s Advocacy Center in Huntsville, AL will be hosting a Medical-Legal Training Academy conference from Nov 3-5, 2016. The training is designed for medical providers of any degree who provide medical evaluations for children’s advocacy centers as part of a multi-disciplinary team approach AS WELL AS attorney who handle cases of child abuse in the legal system (prosecuting attorneys, child protection attorneys, etc.). There will be concurrent medical and legal tracks with a joint mock court scenario at the end. Therefore, if you are able to attend as a “team” from your MDT, it can be both a great learning and team-building time (and there is a registration discount for medical-legal dyads).

While the didactic component of the course would be on the basic level for a CAP, please consider passing this opportunity on to your fellows or primary care providers in the community who may be involved in medical evaluation of child abuse patients at CAC’s.
