Emerging Trends in Technology: Sexting – Clinton Township

September 28, 2011 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Michigan State University – School of Criminal Justice is presenting two trainings on technology and sexting. The program is geared toward a multidisciplinary audience, and you should feel free to share this information with your local law enforcement and your local schools. The topics include how technology is being used to stalk, bully and target children and adults, what laws may apply, especially to sexting and the psychological impact and trauma that can come especially from bullying and sexting.

Sgt. Josh Lator presents on the technology that is being used and it‚s an engaging, eye-opening and a little frightening. Herb Tanner will talk about the law, and some of the problems and issues we face addressing this trend. Glenn Stutzky from MSU will cover the impact on victims. Finally, Sgt. Kevin Mark will cover some of the changes in the Sex Offender Registry.

There is NO cost to attend the workshop thanks to the generous support of the Crime Victims Services Commission. I have attached the registration form and the flier for your review and information. Here’s the dates and venues:
