Child Abuse Cases: Medical Issues & Preparing For Court

The Prosecuting Attorneys Association of Michigan, Child Abuse Training Services, in cooperation with the Prosecuting Attorneys Coordinating Council, and the Department of Human Services (DHS) is pleased to present a cross-professional Specialized Child Abuse Training seminar on the topics of Medical Issues in Child Abuse Cases and Preparing for Court. This training will be held on Monday, July 23, 2012 with registration beginning at 8:30.a.m; seminar begins at 9:00 a.m. and will conclude by 4:30 p.m.
This seminar is designed for professionals who are involved with child abuse investigations or prosecution, including CPS workers, law enforcement, CAC forensic interviewers and prosecutors. If you are in a position that may have to testify in court, you won’t want to miss this seminar!
This seminar will offer the following topics delivered by distinguished by professionals who are recognized as experts in their field.
- Preparing for court
- Courtroom testimony
- Cross examination survival tactics
- Overcoming untrue defenses
- Medical issues in C/A cases
Please find enclosed a copy of the registration form for the session. There is no tuition charge or charge for materials for this seminar. Attendees are responsible for overnight accommodations, transportation, some meals, and other incidental costs.
Due to the cross-professional nature of the program, we anticipate a great deal of interest. Please register early since registration is limited. When space at seminars is available, we welcome participation from professionals in addition to DHS workers, law enforcement, CAC forensic interviewers and prosecutors. We must give priority to our target group. Due to space limitations, and to facilitate participant diversity, PAAM reserves the right to limit the number of attendees from the same agency. Registering by the cut-off date does not guarantee you a spot in the seminar.

**This seminar qualifies as the third day of the 3-day forensic interviewing requirement for CAC attendees. If you have already completed the 2-day forensic interviewing seminar, attending this 1-day seminar will complete the Federal funding requirement**
