Child Maltreatment topics & resource collaboration

Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital Pediatric Conference 2012 brochure should be coming out soon but we wanted to give you a heads-up on their conference topics so you can plan to attend.

The conference is set for Friday, September 14 approximately 8am-4pm.

The focus this year will be Child Abuse Identification & Promoting Interagency Collaboration. Dr. Debra Simms, Dr. Sarah Brown, and Tracy Cyrus, experts from the Child Protection Team at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital will be presenting on a variety of topics including a summary of child abuse and neglect, what should be included in child maltreatment evaluations, abuse evaluation documentation, roles of various agencies referrals & improving collaboration, MRS (Mandatory Reporting System) requirements, and participating in depositions & testifying.
