The Michigan Department of Human Services Centralized Intake State-Wide Implementation

Target audience includes judges (state and tribal); referees; other court staff; attorneys; foster care, adoption, and Child Protective Services caseworkers; other DHS child welfare personnel; private agency foster care and adoption caseworkers; Court Appointed Special Advocates; legislators; policymakers; and other child welfare professionals. Acting Director of Centralized Intake, Carol Kehoe, will provide information regarding the new Centralized Intake business model for the State of Michigan. Centralized Intake will begin in March 2012 and will provide one central location for the intake of Child Protective Services and Adult Protective Services phone calls concerning abuse and neglect. The purpose of the Centralized Intake unit is to ensure consistent assignment across counties. Centralized Intake will be a 24/7 operation, open 365 days of the year.
