    According to the National Survey of Children Exposed to Violence, over 60% of children are exposed to violence. These experiences can impact physical, mental, and behavioral health long into adulthood. The American Academy of Pediatrics policy statement on toxic stress expands upon this, noting the significant impact on the development of the brain when experiences like exposure to violence cause significant toxic stress in a child's life.

  • Child Abuse Cases: Medical Issues & Preparing For Court

    The Prosecuting Attorneys Association of Michigan, Child Abuse Training Services, in cooperation with the Prosecuting Attorneys Coordinating Council, and the Department of Human Services (DHS) is pleased to present a cross-professional Specialized Child Abuse Training seminar on the topics of Medical Issues in Child Abuse Cases and Preparing for Court. This training will be held on Monday, July 23, 2012 with registration beginning at 8:30.a.m; seminar begins at 9:00 a.m. and will conclude by 4:30 p.m.
